Produced In Norfolk Share the View festival
A vibrant and growing community of Norfolk craftsmen and women will be celebrating their talents this autumn when they invite the public to come and learn something new for free at venues across the County in the Produced In Norfolk - Share the View festival.
How to make lamp worked beads, learning how to dye fabric from woad plants grown in Norfolk and the secrets of good acrylic painting are just some of the skills on Offer
David Bartram who is celebrating thirty years of furniture making In Norfolk will show visitors how he is creating his latest commission of a “schloss (castle) bureaux”
David says "It is the challenge of designing and making something for a client and finding the right piece of wood to use that I really enjoy. Using traditional techniques, which are proven through years of use, we use recycled woods for restoration and usually Norfolk and Suffolk timber, much of which comes from the local Raveningham Estate."
Furniture maker Kay Corbettat Corpusty will also be open to show how he makes items from traditional English hardwoods and also has a large display area.
In Booton artist Stuart Roy who recently had a full size horse painting displayed in an exhibition at Newmarket race course, will show visitors how to capture the feel of the Norfolk land and sea in oils.
Stuart says “I have found the landscape of Norfolk inspiring and all the usual clichés of big skies, the unique light and so on do apply, but it is the pace of life which is so different and is what I try to reflect in my painting style.”
