Produced In Norfolk members cook up a fund raising treat
Norfolk food producers are joining forces to cook up some cash for schoolchildren at a Gourmet Curry and Quiz evening at Great Hockham in July.
The idea for the event came from Norfolk curry man Don Lear, who produces Bhajiman Spice Kits and Onion Bhaji Mixes for cooking authentic tasting ethnic meals at home. He has been busy coaching members of the Friends to each cook a dish using one of the Bhajiman products.
On the evening he will be providing his kits and ingredients such as ginger, garlic and coriander, and will also be in charge of cooking the Bombay Potatoes and Lentil Dahl dishes. Other dishes will include Lamb Rogan Josh, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Korma and Jalfrezi, and Pork Vindaloo.
Norfolk Butcher D.J. Barnard from Attleborough will be supplying locally-raised lamb, pork and chicken direct from the farm
Tickets for the event cost £12.50 each from the school or by calling Anna Dobbin on 01953 499907. The ticket price includes a meal with a portion from each of nine dishes and a drink
