Dairy Calves Not destroyed in Norfolk
BBC news have reported that thousands of new-born calves are having to be destroyed by UK dairy farmers after Dutch and Belgian veal producers boycotted imports of British livestock. However in Norfolk Nortons Dairy of Frettenham have a more sustainable approach to dairy farming. Their calves are reared on a neighbouring farm for beef which is then sold at their farm shop just outside Norwich. The Nortons family also grow much of their own feed and are a fine example of best practice and how to farm to benefit livestock and the whole environment. You can visit them at their new shop, taste their home made butter and milk and even take a walk in the beautiful countryside they call their little piece of heaven
