Village Shop Scheme

Produced In Norfolk members making everything from cheese to birdseed are keen to work with Village Shops in Norfolk who are selling their products. PIN has launched an accreditation scheme for Norfolk Village Shops to highlight where GENUINE Norfolk products can be purchased.

All qualifying shops will be included in our next brochure being published in Spring 2008. 100,000 copies will be printed in full colour, DL size and will be distributed throughout Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, to visitor attractions, libraries and local people.

Shops will also receive regular newsletters on new producers and products, together with information on local activities across the County being undertaken by the co-op. Participants can also make use of the many media opportunities offered to members.

“We are keen to promote village shops who are providing a valued service to Norfolk’s rural communities” explained Simon Robinson, Director of the co-op “They play a vital role in contributing to the economic sustainability of village life. This scheme is designed to increase footfall and to educate visitors and local people in the benefits of shopping locally. The promotion of genuine Norfolk products makes the County distinctive, encourages repeat visits and adds value to the Norfolk tourism product as a whole; bringing social, environmental  and economic benefits to all”

The promtion, marketing and point of sale material is valued at over £750 per shop and represents great value for rural shops in return for a small contribution from each shopkeeper.
